JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. MSF is looking for a: COOK Daily Worker Pool in Misrata (timely replacements) Main Purpose Prepare meals for residents and other persons in the MSF facilities, according to hygiene standards and security rules, in order to ensure their nutritional needs. Meals prepared in collaboration with the residents. Main Accountabilities § Carry out the preparation of meals for residents § Follow at all times all hygiene standards and security rules. § Control stock of food and non-food items needed on a regular basis, prepare and share shopping lists on time to supervisor. § Make purchases when required upon supervisor’s approval. § Ensure meals to be served on time. § Ensure cleanliness of all facilities, utensils and equipment. § Look after all equipment provided. § Keep an inventory of MSF kitchen utensils and equipment, i.e. plates, glasses, cutlery, cookware, etc., and ensure its integrity. § Report all important information (lost, robbery, damages, deterioration, incident, etc.).to superior. § Coordinate with the shelter team for the participation of residents in preparing dishes, cleaning the utensils and equipment. Requirements EducationLiteracy essential, course on cooking desirable. ExperiencePrevious experience in a multicultural environment desirable LanguagesArabic essential. English (and/or French) desirable.
